How does it work?
Hypnosis is a relaxed and focused state of mind brought about by the use of a set of relaxation techniques.
We all experience this entirely natural phenomenon each and every day in our lives. It is that deeply relaxed state that we enter just before we fall asleep or immediately on wakening in the morning. Other times we experience these hypnotic states of mind on a regular basis are perhaps when we are daydreaming and become totally oblivious to what is going on around us or when on 'auto-pilot' whilst driving. Have you ever found yourself arriving at your destination and can't remember driving down certain roads? That is a well-documented occurrence called "highway hypnosis".
Your conscious is the thinking part of your brain and your subconscious is like your filing cabinet where you store everything you have ever learnt. Once you have learnt a new skill such as driving for instance, it becomes stored in your subconscious, enabling your conscious mind to think about something else.
Once information is stored in your subconscious, it is very difficult to tell it otherwise. Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness characterised by profound physical and mental relaxation. In this very pleasant, deeply relaxed state, our minds become more focused and we can access the subconscious mind. With commitment and motivation, using positive
suggestions and imagery, we at aspired therapies, are able to help you achieve your desired changes and aspirations.
